Obituary of Leona Lee Peabody

Leona Lee Bruce Peabody, 63, wife of Timothy Richard Peabody, passed away on January 29, 2020. Born in Newsport News, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Walter Eugene Bruce and Betty Mae Pursley Bruce. A graduate of Buena High in Arizona, Mrs. Peabody continued her education attending Beauty School. Later in life Mrs. Peabody managed and ran different stores, including circle K’s and seven 11’s. Leona loved her family and even spent her time as a caregiver for them. She thoroughly loved to cook and sew. Mrs. Peabody is survived by her husband, Timothy Peabody; a daughter, Michelle Schussman (Thomas); a grandson, Timothy Eugene Bruce; and a sister, Charla. Mrs. Peabody was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Betty Bruce; and two sisters, Merle and Cassandra. There are no services planned at this time. Saffell House Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
