Obituary of Lorraine Hendren Baker
Lorraine Hendren Baker, 74, passed away on Saturday, January 14, 2017. She was born in Mackville, Ky on December 27, 1942; she was the daughter of the late James Edgar Hendren and Norma Peavler Hendren. Mrs. Baker was the beloved wife of Darrel Gene Baker for 56 years; they were bound together in marriage on December 20, 1960.
Mrs. Baker graduated from Mackville High School in 1960. Mrs. Baker began her walk with Christ when she was baptized by Brother Woodrow Davis in 1961. She was a faithful member at Mt. Zion Church of Christ in the Battle community of Washington County, Kentucky. She lived her life as the one spoke about in James 4:14- “whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away.” Mrs. Baker enjoyed sewing, gardening and caring for her family. She was known as a wonderful cook, however her family is unsure if she liked it or just did it anyway.
Mrs. Baker is survived by her husband, Darrel Baker; her sons, Timothy Darrel Baker (Angela), Kelly Amon Baker (Karen), Robert Aaron Baker (Erica); her daughters, Lora Renee Carney, and Julie Anne Sweets (Darrel); her brother, Leroy Hendren (Brenda); her sisters, Linda Gayle Sims (Bruce), Rosaland Hilton (Billy), Judy Isham, Shelby Jean Russell (Joe); 19 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and several nephews, nieces and cousins.
Mrs. Baker is predeceased by two brothers, John Harrison Hendren (Tootsie) and James Larry Hendren (Debbie).
