Obituary of Bob C. Litton
Bob C. Litton, 88, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 9, 2024. Born on July 17, 1936, in Drakesboro, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Carl and Leona Tooley Litton.
Bob grew up in Evansville, Indiana, and graduated from Bosse High School. At just 16, he felt the call to serve as a pastor, dedicating nearly 70 years to ministry. Throughout his life, he served churches across Kentucky, including in Kuttawa, Marion, Cadiz, Habit, Chaplin, Utica, Frankfort, and Pleasureville, bringing compassion and faith to each community. He earned his Doctorate of Theology and deeply impacted many through his service. In his later years, he attended Sand Spring Baptist Church in Lawrenceburg. Known for his sweet spirit, kindness, and quick wit (especially his “grandaddy jokes”), Bob also enjoyed supporting the University of Kentucky, though he often found the games too nerve-wracking to watch. He collected yo-yos and lighthouses, both treasured parts of his life.
Bob was a devoted family man and is fondly remembered by his children, Sheri Smith (Steven) and Jeff Litton (Jana); grandchildren, Grant Litton (Jayne), Darryn Litton (Alena), Jeremy Litton (Stephanie), Kaylin Wehle (Matt), Tyler Smith, Logan Smith (Kayla), Makailyn Hines, and Michael Hines; and his great-grandchildren, Victoria Smith, Isaiah Litton, Brady Litton, Vivian Smith, Andrew Litton, Ezra Smith, Joshua Litton, Aubrey Litton, Karson Ferrell, Melodie Smith, Gracyne Litton, and Autumn Wehle. He is also survived by his fiancée, Jeanie Smith.
In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 58 years, Barbara Litton, as well as his siblings, Harold Litton and Charlotte Dixon.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, from 3-7 p.m. at Saffell House Funeral Home. A funeral service will take place on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, at 11 a.m., with visitation preceding from 9-11 a.m. A graveside service will follow at Chaplin Highview Hill Cemetery.
