Obituary of James Frances Murphy
James Frances Murphy, 62, passed away on Friday, October 25, 2024. Born on August 14, 1962, in Frankfort, KY, he was the beloved son of the late George Alford Murphy and Nellie Rachel Norton Murphy. James was a devoted husband to his wife, Mary Annetta Wilson Murphy.
James attended Anderson County High School and was the founding member of Eagle Ridge Church, while currently attending Victory Chapel Pentecostal. A skilled craftsman, he enjoyed woodworking, restoring classic cars, and riding his bike. His faithful companion, Brutus, was always by his side.
He is survived by his wife Annetta; his children, Terri McKell (Mike) and Tim Willis (Dana); his sisters, Rachel Robinson, Sue Ritchey (Clyde), and Edie Murphy; his brother, Rod Murphy (Wanda); and grandchildren, Melissa Gray (Andrew), Tyler McKell (Christina), Courtney Willis (Frankie), Emily Willis (Jake) and Osiana Willis; as well as great-grandchild, Annabelle Gray.
James is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Walter Hahn, Wayne Murphy, Ben Murphy, and John Murphy; and son, Bobby Willis.
A private family graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2024. A memorial service will follow on November 2, 2024, at 2 p.m. at Eagle Ridge Church on Duncan Road.
