Obituary of Scott Frasier

Scotty Wayne Frasier (Scott) age 57, beloved husband, father, and Alabama football enthusiast, passed away on May 2, 2024.  Born August 3, 1966, he was raised on Sand Mountain in Ider, Alabama.  On this mountain, Scott developed his deep appreciation for his roots and the values instilled in him by his family and community.  Everyone loved hearing his stories about corn fields, the skating rink, potato fields and his many adventures and antics with friends, cousins, and sisters Sherry and T.O. (Karen)- The “Three Amigos!”   He was a Christian, best friend, and brother.

His passion for Alabama football knew few bounds, and he cheered with gusto for the Crimson Tide- a symbol of unwavering loyalty he passed on to his children and many unsuspecting acquaintances and passersby.  For several years, he attempted to convert his mother-in-law; however, while she loved him dearly, she never abandoned her loyalty to the Tennessee Volunteers.

Scott was not just a fan of Alabama football, but a dedicated family man.  He was the proud father of four boys: Jackson, Colton, William, and Truitt.  His love for his sons knew no bounds, and he cherished every moment spent with them, whether it was coaching them in baseball, cheering them on in wrestling, football, beaming as they accepted diplomas, or sharing stories and jokes at the dinner table.  He raised phenomenal young men and shared his pride with family, friends, and just about anyone he met… Scott could make a friend pumping gas.

In 2016, Scott met Mary, and together they built a life, albeit too short, filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories.  Mary brought with her a daughter, Bailey, whom Scott welcomed into his heart, treating her as his own.

Scott willingly and lovingly provided for his family.  His longtime career in telecommunications evolved into working with “The Cloud.”  He always joked about never knowing his exact job title… Telephone Man, Systems Engineer, Ye’ Maker of the Cloud.  He leaves us having so enjoyed his most recent position as a Design Engineer with Optivor Technologies.

Scott's legacy of love and dedication will forever be treasured by his family and all who had the privilege of knowing him. His spirit will live on in the hearts of those he leaves behind: Wife Mary Halmhuber Frasier; Sons Jackson Lee, Colton Wyatt, William Garrison, and Truitt Scott; Daughter Bailey Dozier Pedersen; Sisters Sherry Greene (Don) and Karen Jacobs (Ed); Nephews Nick (Priscilla) and Reed; Nieces Emily and Kara; and many cousins and other extended family.  He was preceded in death by his father, Wyatt Frasier, and his mother, Barbara (Bobbie) Frasier.

Scott, let us remember you not with sorrow, but with gratitude for the joy you brought into our lives.  And as the Crimson Tide marches on, let us honor your memory with a resounding “Roll Tide Roll,” knowing that your spirit will forever be with us.  A memorial service for our Scott will be held at a later date.

Saffell House Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements.
