Obituary of Betty Jo Hawkins

Betty Jo Casey Hawkins, aged 76, peacefully passed away at her home on Monday, April 15, 2024. Born on April 14, 1948, in Frankfort, KY, Betty was the daughter of the late Hosea Ralph Casey and Geneva Thelma Overstreet Casey.

A lifelong resident of Anderson County, Betty Jo played many important roles throughout her life, including wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She worked at Buffalo Trace as a bottling operator, Wild Turkey Distillery, and also provided childcare services. Betty Jo was a member of Fox Creek Baptist Church and found joy in reading, cooking, and spending time with her loved ones.

Betty Jo is survived by her children, Serina Renee Cooke (Brian) and Earl Shane Hawkins (Katy); sisters, Verna Mae Boggess, Edith Fint, and Jenny Shyrock; grandchildren, Dylan Thomas Hawkins, Megan Renee Hawkins, Alexis Marie Cooke, Dallan Tanner Hawkins, William Brooks Hawkins, Makaya Ballinger, and Ben Ballinger; and great-grandchildren, Blessing Marie Bechstein and Kynlee Grace Hudson.

In addition to her parents, Betty Jo is predeceased by her husband, William Rusty Hawkins; sister, Margaret Ann Campbell; and brothers, Norman Casey and Ralph Casey Jr..

Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 18, 2024 from 5-8 p.m.. The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, April 19, 2024 at 11 a.m. with a graveside service immediately following at Lawrenceburg Cemetery. Brother Jerry Dedmon will officiate the service.

Pallbearers will be Dylan Hawkins, Dallan Hawkins, Brooks Hawkins, B.J. Perry, Bobbie Elliott, and Ronnie Boggess.
