Obituary of Mary Catherine Morries
Mary “Cammy” Hodges Morries, 79, passed away on Sunday, March 3, 2024. Cammy was born on December 6, 1944, in Sullivan, IL, to her late parents, William Herbert Hodges and Dorothy Hodges. Cammy was a devoted wife to Jessie Morries for 63 years.
Cammy and Jessie's love story began in Florida, where they got married and embarked on a journey that took them to various places across the country. They recently settled in Lawrenceburg to be closer to their family. Cammy held several jobs throughout her life, but she was most cherished for her roles as a preacher's wife and homemaker. She found joy in cooking, singing, and caring for her loved ones. Cammy was a valued member of the Church of God of Prophecy in Versailles..
In addition to her husband, Cammy is survived by her children, Jessica Lannie (Ricky) and Curtis Morries (Pam); grandchildren, Justin Morries, Jordan Morries, and Hannah Wedding (Matt); sisters, Elaine Maye, Delores Kirkland, and Sheila Cassidy.
Cammy is predeceased by her parents and her brother, Phil Hodges.
A Graveside Service to honor and celebrate Cammy's life will be held on Saturday, March 9, 2024, at 2 p.m. at Lawrenceburg Cemetery, with Jeff Slone officiating.
