Obituary of Wallace Ogle Stamey, Jr.
With heavy heart, we announce the passing of Wallace Ogle Stamey Jr. He died at the age of 51 on May 4, 2023. Wallace passed away surrounded by loved ones after a valient battle with cancer.
Wallace was not just a woodworker of 30 years, he was a craftsman and his passion for the craft was infectious. His teachings of the art of the craft will live on in those he happily mentored for generations to come. A scholarship has been established in his name to benefit students interested in the trade.
Wallace's unique perspective on situations enhanced the lives of everyone who knew him. He had a persistent, unstoppable will to do what he felt was right. At his core he was a warrior. He lit up a room, met people where they were at, and helped them feel their worth and potential. It was easy to feel like you knew him your entire life in just a single meeting. Wallace credited the lessons he learned and shared with his friends of Bill, with shaping him into the man he became. Heaven has gained a beautiful soul.
Wallace is survived by his partner in life, Kristine Colgin, and their fur babies - Bella, Daisy, and Todd; Rick Martindale - his best friend of 31 years; and countless friends all over the country. He was preceeded in death by his mother Gwendolyn Stamey Boone and father Wallace Ogle Stamey Sr..
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to his scholarship at www.wallacestameyscholarship.com
