Obituary of Raphael Walter Morris

Raphael Walter Morris, 91, passed away on Monday, April 24, 2023 at The Morning Pointe in Louisville, KY. Born in Nelson County, Ky on October 29, 1931; he was the son of the late William and Frances Terrell Morris.

Raphael graduated high school in 1949 from Bloomfield High School. He worked and retired for GE in Production Appliance. After marrying his wife, Jewell, on December 19th, 1951; they lived in Chaplin and Louisville. Raphael was a member of the Eastland Church of Christ.

Raphael is survived by his son, Danny Morris (wife, Rebecca); daughter, Karen Ossewaarde (husband, Scott); grandchildren, Erin Chaffin, Matthew Ossewaarde and Kristin Haney, Ethan Morris; and five great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his wife, Jewell Brown Morris; his parents, William and Frances Terrell Morris; siblings, Margaret Richardson, Virginia Ozment, Priscilla Morris, Forrest Morris, Rollin Morris, William Morris, and Jasper Morris.

A Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, April 26, 2023 at 1 p.m. at Chaplin Highview Cemetery. Brother Rob Miller will be officiating the service.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Saffell House Funeral Home.
