I just heard yesterday (2/26/17) of the passing of Gerry at a WASCA sponsored Square Dance. Gerry (Mom as we all called her) and John Washburn taught me Square Dancing in 1981 or 82. Then the Club was the "One by One Deckhands". I enjoyed it then and still do today with a Club in Manassas, VA called "Rawhide and Ruffles" and a club Woodbridge, VA called "Grand Squares".
We were saddened when Gerry, John and Rita left Northern VA and moved to KY. And now more saddened to hear of "Mom's" passing. Gerry helped me through a difficult time in my life by just being Gerry and listening and maybe a little suggestion or two to keep me going. I miss you Gerry! But we will meet again one day!
In the mean time I hope to reconnect with John and Rita and catch up one day soon.
