Obituary of Katie Rosalie Howard

Katharine "Katie" Harriss Howard of Lawrenceburg was a loving wife, mother, and friend. She passed away on September 26, 2021 at the Kindred Hospital in Louisville at age 68. She is survived by her husband William "Bill" Howard; her children, Valerie and Matthew Boudas; her brother, John Harriss; and cousins, nieces, and nephews. Katie was born to the late Jesse and Loretta Harriss in New York City, New York. She graduated from Denison University and spent her career in Chicago, where she raised her children. Following her retirement from Ameritech as a Public Relations executive in 2008, Katie moved to Kentucky where she became a passionate and valued member of her community. Katie was a volunteer at heart; she was involved with the Open Hands Food Pantry, a member of Ninevah Christian Church, Secretary of the Lawrenceburg Rotary Club and founder of the Anderson County Republican Women's Club. She was a skilled equestrian and loved spending time on horseback with her friends, training her beloved dogs, tending to her beautiful garden, and reading on her back porch. A memorial service will be held at Ninevah Christian Church on October 10, 2021 at 2 p.m. with a meal to follow. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Saffell House Funeral Home.
