Obituary of Michael Hagan Bishop

Michael Hagan Bishop (Mike), 78, passed away September 14, 2021 in Lebanon, KY. Born June 15, 1943 in Bardstown, KY to the late James Briscoe Bishop and Elizabeth Louise Hagan Bishop. Mike graduated from My Old Kentucky Home High School in 1962. He spent most of his life working in the Harness Racing and Quarter Horse Industry as an Owner/ Driver/ Trainer. Mike loved to ride horses and even enjoyed trail riding. He also worked in construction and GE for a while. Mike is survived by his children, Luann B. Stoner (Richard), Joseph M. Bishop, Susan R. Potts (Jon D.), and Rebecca Bishop Yates (David); 19 grandchildren; 52 great grandchildren; and 4 great-great grandchildren. The family wishes to give special thanks to a dear friend of Mike’s, Kenny Hamilton, who was a true neighbor and a true friend for his role in showing care for Mike. He is preceded in death by his parents, James Briscoe Bishop and Elizabeth Louise Hagan Bishop; a son, Hagan T. Bishop (Timmy) (Martha Gail-survived by); and a brother, Kenneth Bishop. A celebration of life memorial service will come to follow in the months to come. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Saffell House Funeral Home.
